    We thought we were assigning something that could be done indoor or outdoor; portraiture. With people even. The doldrums of the summer are hard to get people motivated but a few motivated souls did take up the challenge. This months winner is a repeat winner, Eric Karp.  He usually submits the fantastic table-top oriented shots and this time he took his skill up another notch with objects and a musician.

    For our August contest we ran with the idea of 'Make us go Wow!'. We had many good entrants and a better field to draw from for our winner. We always appreciate members putting their work up for some fun judging within our group and we are proud to announce Erik Carp took home the prize for his entry.

    This months photography meeting aka Southside in Charlotte was amazing. On top of some fantastic imagery to go over for the month and our Pro member contest we had excellent presentations.

    June Wessinger and Steve Lindenman gave a great presentation on sports photography from catching the young ones to the NFL Pro ones. For what was supposed to be short Steve went rapidly through a lot of details people can put into play at their next sports outing. We then had the amazing Casey Sussman who showed us her digital photo manipulation tips and techniques as the third part of our Adobe Photoshop Layers series. It was quite advanced and Casey did it all in fantastic style. She's is a professional and was really in her environment. It was an amazing night and we had a great turnout for what can be considered some of the dog days of summer.
